Renee Cail
Renee Cail has been an advocate for the rights of others since she was a teenager residing in South Central Los Angeles. As a young girl she did not know about smog, ozone levels and the devastating impact of climate change. She is passionate about the passing of environmental justice laws as everyone deserves to breathe clean air, enjoy clean water and have access to healthy soil.
Renee Cail has been a champion for environmental justice for several years. She became a member of CHASE (Citizens for a Healthy and Safe Environment) in 2009. She became president of CHASE in 2013. CHASE is a chapter of the Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League, (BREDL).
Advocating for people to attain their highest quality of life is her true passion. Clean air, water and soil has to be a priority. Ms. Cail has possessed the unique privilege of assisting communities in opposing corporations with a history of spewing toxic emissions that harm the residents of predominantly African American, rural and disenfranchised communities.
Some of Ms. Cail’s achievements have been advocating on behalf of the residents, educating the community about hazardous chemicals and the devastation of climate change. She has hosted events encouraging community engagement, organized protests, and participated in strategic planning events.
In March, 2022 Ms. Cail received the Nikki T. Randall Servant Leadership Award.
